DAYVII SEVEN’S “PUT IT ON” A CREATIVE FASHION STROLL

CLEAR! The sound of the DAYVII SEVEN’s team prepping to bring life back into Virginia’s fashion. Can Virginia’s creative fashion be resuscitated? Is it in need of a fresh BREATH of air?

This DAYVII Seven team did just that on November 2, 2025. The time was 11:00 am on Granby Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia. Fall decided to take a little break from the brisk weather and give us a warm welcome. The streets were slowly filling with families arriving at restaurants to have brunch, unaware that something unforgettable was about to unfold right in front of them. Soon, a pop of creativity and color graced the streets alongside Chicho’s Backstage and Jeanne and the George Roper Performing Arts Center. The ordinary morning shifted into something electric as energy, style, and imagination started pouring down the avenue.

That POP of color came from the official first event of DAYVII S, theEVEN “Put It On” Creatives Fashion Stroll. Led by cofounders Travian Vann and Brandy Hardenett, this event collided with some of the most talented Virginia photographers and fashion influencers. For a moment, Granby Avenue became a runway featuring participants ranging from established fashion icons to fresh new faces. Creatives of all ages attended, some as young as six years old, each serving looks and giving energy while sporting top hats, tapestry jackets, and one-of-a-kind upcycled pieces. Street spectators and restaurant patrons had a front row seat to an eclectic show that would be forever embedded in their minds, watching as confidence, personality, and style transformed the street into a living gallery.

Some of Virginia’s Best Photographers — Joi Pearson, Dexter Cohen, Shamara Xavier, Byron Wimbish, Semaj Archie, KD, and Zieyaier — took full advantage of the scenery, using fire escape stairs, unused tires, alleyways, street signs, and unexpected corners as their studio for the day. Their passion, guidance, and years of experience appeared in each frame, turning every photograph into a work of art. It was incredible to watch each photographer interpret the moment differently, each bringing their own rhythm and eye. Through their lenses you could see their unique style and the details that speak to them, giving life to the scene in a way only they could capture.

The official after get-together was held at Canvas Social Cuisine, a restaurant fit for the occasion. A time was had as photographers and creatives had the opportunity to look over photos while also enjoying signature drinks, music, and soul brunch entrees. Conversations flowed easily, connections were made, creativity continued to spark, and the room felt like an extension of the runway outside.

The first event of DAYVII Seven was one for the books and will be forever a favorite chapter for Virginia creatives and photographers. Until next time, fashion creatives… And if you're wondering whether there will be another “Put It On” Creatives Fashion Stroll, the answer is yes. The inquiries have been nonstop, and the excitement has not gone unnoticed. Another one is being planned, so all we can say for now is… stay tuned.
